Wound Care Today 2018 is excited to present a programme of Skills Zone sessions alongside the conference programme and exhibition.
These sessions will be run throughout the two-day event. All delegates can participate, either at prearranged times, or at stop and learn sessions.
SKILLS ZONE SESSIONS
Practical Debridement Skills Workshop
A showcase for debridement methods, in particular curettage, hosted by Birmingham City University, with practical debridement demonstrations
Compression for complex and challenging cases
Julie Stanton and Veronica Doody, Healogics Wound Healing Centres, will demonstrate the use of bandaging/hosiery for complex leg forms and discuss the various options and application techniques
Writing for publication
Wound Care Today will share their expertise with delegates on how to write for publication and what to expect from editors
Good Business Planning
Paul Nordon and Edwin Chamanga will discuss the need for good business planning and to enhance their skills in Strategy, Audit, Current and future plans. Strenghts and Weeknesses of current services, Pressure Points, Signpost of success. This will be supported by practical hints and tips to support delegates through this process.
Filming – silence the fear
Mole Productions will provide delegates with the opportunity to present to a camera, thereby removing the fear of the unknown
Lymphoedema – practical management
Melanie Thomas and Karen Morgan will discuss the implications of their ‘wet leg pathway for chronic oedema’ and share the practical elements of its implementation for both staff and patients
Changing Faces
A charity organisation supporting people who have a disfigurement find a way to live the life they want. Through support, training and the education of NHS staff, who can then support the clients through this time and period of transition
